The Polish Addict’s First Anniversary!: Vipera – 558
I’m ashamed to say this but I totally forgot about the first anniversary of this blog coming up. If it hadn’t been for my thoughtful friend and reader, Kyosuke, I would have forgotten completely – I’ve just been so swamped with life lately, I apologize.
In any case, I thought for this special post I would reflect a bit on what this blog means to me personally. I started The Polish Addict last year during the final examination period. I’m a notorious productive procrastinator (I procrastinate by doing everything other than the thing I’m supposed to be doing) and this site was just the newest project in a long line of things I invented to absorb my study time. I never expected that this site would become as popular as it has become but I am so glad that I endeavored to write it. This site has enriched my life, truly. I have made so many wonderful friends along the way. I thought the best way to celebrate this anniversary would be to show you guys a polish sent to me by one of the amazing people I had the pleasure of encountering through blogging. My friend and reader Magda sent me this polish all the way from Poland.
This picture just doesn’t do this color any justice at all. Vipera 558 is green micro glitter suspended in black transparent polish. The shimmer is extremely complex and gives the polish a stunning multi-dimensional depth. It flashes different shades of green and copper. Honestly, 558 is one of the most beautiful polishes I have ever seen. The application was flawless. I don’t know much about this brand. I haven’t encountered it in the United States so I’m assuming it’s only available in Central Europe.

Happy Anniversary! :) Wow that’s a very intriguing polish, I’ve never seen it in UK so probably i Eastern Europe brand :) But I don’t care – I wants it!

‘Productive procastinator’ I love that. I wish I had thought about that all those years ago when I would do anything other than study. Even now in my mid 40’s I haven’t overcome this trait. So now I know what to say to myself instead of beating myself up (well not really I’ve learned to accept all my foibles). Congratulations. You always provide entertainment as well as info. I do my nails while reading your blog. Then I get frustrated that my application NEVER, never I tell you, look as good as yours. Keep blogging girl you’re good at it.

Happy Anniversary, Stephanie & The Blog! :) I just wanted to say I’ve stumbled upon your blog today for the first time and absolutely love it – what a great read, and the pictures are fantastic! I’d like to include it the blog roll on my site, if that’s ok with you!
Incidentally, I am Polish too and have one or two Vipera polishes; it is a Polish brand and I think it’s only available there. If anything, they might export it to Czech Republic or Slovakia or places like that, I am pretty sure it’s not sold in the USA and absolutely positive you can’t get it in the UK as I currently reside there…
Aaanyway, as I said, lovely blog – keep up the good work!:)

It’s interesting how these various polishes effect the perceived shape of your nails. I know your nails are longer in this pic than they were in the previous post. But, you can see how glittery polishes elongate the nail making it look straight and narrow. More opaque polishes make your nails look flatter and wider.
