The Polish Addict’s Top 20 Polishes of All Time: #13 China Glaze – For Audrey

Alright, today we’ll be resuming The Top 20 Polishes of All time countdown. For a recap of the colors so far check out the Top 2o (2008) category.

Number 13 is China Glaze For Audrey. I wore For Audrey last Halloween. I was dressed as Marie Antoinette and the costume was a similar shade of blue. This color was released in 2007 as a Limited Edition polish in honor of Audrey Hepburn. Fittingly, For Audrey is a nearly true Tiffany Blue. A true match is unlikely because, apparently, Tiffany & Co. holds a color trademark on their famous blue.

The minute I saw the promotion for this color I simply had to have it. Now… I’m going to impart some information that many of you may find shocking. I don’t particularly care for Audrey Hepburn. I’ve only seen portions of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and didn’t really care for the film either. And… I really, really dislike Tiffany & Co. jewelry. My point is that I love this unique color for the actual color and not for anything that China Glaze intended for it to represent. There is just something extraordinary about For Audrey. It will always have a special place in my collection (even though it does absolutely nothing for my skin tone).

This is one of my favorites! Like you, I don’t really care that the color is “for Audrey.” I just like this pretty aqua creme.
I’m also in the same camp on Audrey Hepburn; I really don’t get all the hubbub surrounding her.

  4. rachel Says:

exact same feelings about audrey hepburn and the movie. zero appeal to me. but lets be real, neither audrey hepburn nor her character would ever wear this color. its for US!

I’m so impressed by such hands… I’ve always loved blue polishes and you wear it perfectly ^^ Recently my wife just tried out A Sin Worth Committing and Carribbean Blue but this one is a must too, and I’m so sorry we can’t get such jewels that easily out there… You’re some lucky american guys & gals ^^

    Dana – Exactly, I don’t either. Even as a little girl I didn’t get it and I still don’t.

Rmcandlelight – lol, thank you. I feel like it washes me out a bit but I still love it.

Itzzzkimmm – Yeay! Looove success stories. : )

Rachel – LOL – so true!

    Monique – Isn’t it!?

Eralk Fang – I’m glad that you ordered it! It really is an awesome color you won’t be disappointed.

    Shamini – : ) Thank you.

Kyosuke – Thank you. : ) You guys have trouble finding China Glaze in Europe? Have you tried ordering from the big etailers?

  10. Kyosuke Says:

It must be imported, and it’s quite expensive. When I order from a website, I could spend $50 for polishes and $50 for shipment.

And I dunno any big place to get them anywhere else, not even in shop as Sephora.

  11. Honey Says:

I love sky blues, and I love love love this color. Aqua is my favorite shade.

  12. Jason Says:

That’s not a color I would choose from the bottle, but it sure looks wonderful on you! :)

  13. Flavia Says:

Wow, I just got mine in the mail, I bought it 3 weeks ago on ebay US! Can’t wait to try it out. It looks awesome on you, Steph!

P.s.: Metro Chic is still not here, but since this one took so long I’m not surprised ;)

  14. elizabethh Says:

Haha yeah I know, super random.

  15. pretear Says:

Kyosuke – WOW. Let me poke around and see if I can find you a better distributor. Maybe you guys just need to move to the U.S. lol.

Honey – Ditto, I can never resist getting these colors when I see them.

    Jason – Thank you lol.

Flavia – Thank you. : ) I hope MC didn’t stuck in customs or something. Is your country really strict?

Elizabeth – I can’t believe I still don’t own Lubu Heels. I’m going to pick up in my next order. lol

  16. angy Says:

hello! gray is extra bravo! thank you for the link to my website is very nice! kiss! angy))

  17. Lindsay Says:

This color looks great on your nails. What topcoat do you use to always make your nails look so shiny? And what nail polish remover do you recommend?

  18. Steph Says:

    Angy – : )

Lindsay – I use Seche Vite as a top coat most of the time. I really like Zoya Remove+ as a remover. It’s very very very very gentle and great for people like me that change polish very often. Otherwise Onyx is a great heavy duty remover, it just dries out my skin – but it’s gets the job done really well and fast.

  19. anna Says:

I am wearing this lovely color with holographic top coat from CG for the upcoming birth of my son ;) I wore a nice bright pink last year when my daughter was born- this is one of the few hobbies i can keep up with while having infants, i love your blog – so much easier for me to see your reviews and swatches then to buy/ try in the stores. Thanks so much!

  20. molly Says:

This is one of my favorite colors! It was hard to find in stores though so I just ended up ordering it off Amazon. I do love Audrey Hepburn, so the name was a plus for me.
