Avoiding Evil Nail Polish Sellers

One my favorite sites is the consumer watch dog blog The Consumerist. For polish addicts bad sellers are a huge problem. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear some horror story about someone buying nail polish from an unscrupulous seller. It’s time for us to fight back. I’m going to start a category called ‘Buyer Beware’ that is listed in my link bar below my logo. In this section I will post any stories you send me about purchasing experiences. It can be anything, a rude sales associates, misrepresented auctions, or any problem you might experience. This is meant as a way to keep consumers informed and to keep a check on bad sellers.

now and here is as good a place as any to warn all readers about my experience with FOOTSIES. they avoided contact and communication with me for 6 weeks after the sale – all their lines were cut off, didnt answer any emails or forms i sent in thru their site. i escalated the issue to a pay-pal dispute, then claim. because pay-pal put pressure on them, they finally sent me a package… but NOT what i ordered! the package had 3 colors i ordered and an additional 6 nail polishes i in way, shape, or form requested. pay-pal ruled in my favor but was unable to acquire any money from the seller’s account (not clear how this works). long story short: THEY ARE CON ARTISTS! also, they overcharge

I had a bad experience with the eBay seller “opieveryday” (http://stores.ebay.com/opieveryday). They have an awesome Buy 4 Get 1 Free deal, so I ordered a bunch and waited for my loot. After three weeks I finally got my order, and the 3 free polishes I got were all topcoats, instead of the colors I had asked for. The seller asked me to send the topcoats back in exchange for the colors I had actually ordered (which cost me $8 in shipping). Long story short, I never received my polishes. They kept assuring me that they were on the way until 60 days after I had initially purchased them (which was conveniently the deadline for leaving feedback). After that, I never heard a peep from them.

This was in the summer and I’m still really cranky about it. I hope they don’t scam anyone else!

It’s a right idea… I hope it will be a way to get off them from our next shopping list.

    I’ve got one.
Pure Beauty. The sales accosiates are horrible! I’ve gone to 2 stores, and both stores have been incredibly rude. In both stores I was ignored, in one I was followed around CLOSELY as if I were going to steal something. Mind you I was dressed nicely, in heels!
I’ve been yelled at from across the store, in a rude manner, and when I called to complain (I just asked to speak with the manager) I was hung up on, with them saying she wasn’t in, and they didn’t know when she would be back.

So I called Headquaters and complained.

so, i’ve just stumbled upon this site after hearing so many good things about china glaze from Faffinattex3 from youtube, i was wondering if anybody knows if amazon is a good place to buy the product only i live in the UK and even though http://www.8ty8beauty.com‘s nail polish prices are REALLY cheap, the postage goes up the more polishes you buy, up to 6 polishes is $16 whichis as much as the 6 plishes thamselves :S

If not i think you might see me milling around the USA just to buy the polishes ;)

  15. Steph Says:

Ah no, unfortunately I think 8ty8 is going to be your best bet. : (

  16. kiki Says:

transdesign.com/ us also a cheap nail polish website that you could try

  17. Leanne Says:

I have been very happy with TransDesign so far. I checked out 8ty8beauty but their shipping to Canada was much more costly. Transdesign is the cheapest that I have found so far AND they actually answer their e-mails!
