The Polish Addict’s Top 20 Polishes of All Time: #17 Orly – Bon Bon
Lilacs and lavenders always look horrible on me but I wear them anyway. I just love lilacs and I always will. Of all the lilacs I’ve accumulated in my effort to find one that does not make me look undead, Orly Bon Bon comes out on top as my favorite.

My original review of this color explains my love for Bon Bon extensively. Since I can’t possibly give a better explanation for why this color is so deserving of being on this list, I’ll leave you with a brief quote from my original post (but I recommend reading the whole thing if you are not convinced.)
“[To] my astonishment, I found that [Orly Bon Bon is] actually a really gorgeous, ethereal color. Honestly, I could not stop staring down at my mani, that’s how other-worldly it looked on my nails. If angels wore nail polish, this would be their go-to shade.”

Love this.
Also just want to mention that we are accidently matching today according to your currently rocking section. I am wearing OPI “Birthday Babe” on my nails and OPI “The Lifeguard Made Me Blush” on my toes :D

“If angels wore nail polish, this would be their go-to shade.”
Maybe you are the angel ;)
It’s lovely on you, but why do you always hide your thumb finger ? :p
Btw the polish is so perfectly applied that the light reflexion looks very nice, just like a mirror :)

I have really found myself liking the lilacs here of late. I just haven’t actually gone out and picked me up a bottle yet.

I don’t know why you don’t like the way lilacs and lavenders look on you, because this looks dazzling on you!

I have Bon Bon and while I think it’s a great color, I cannot seem to get it to a solid shade without at least 3 to 4 coats and by that point it it too thick. Any advice, ever-wise Polish Addict? It looks great in the swatch picture, but I cannot seem to achieve that result without a thick, drippy mess.

Katee – Thanks.
CherriesintheKnow – Thank you!
Vampy – Def pick it up, it’s a great one.
Lindsay – :o That’s weird, BB was my NOTD way back in September. Does it still show up as BB right now?
Kyosuke – lol : ) and thank you. This is a really old pic, the lamp I used it not very good but I think the picture came out well.
Livia – I’m Brazilian too!
Brooke – Dooooo eeeet. (I am an enabler.)
Suichi – Thank you! : )
Sminkan – LOL – I call it the undead look.
Chrissy – Hmm. That’s very bizarre I didn’t have any trouble with this one at all but it’s definitely a 4 coater. What kind of base coat are you using? Sometimes letting each coat completely dry before applying the next will help with extremely problematic polishes. You’re bottle might also benefit from some thinning if it’s too thick. : ( I hope that helps.

I’ve been using NailTek II. I’ll give Bon Bon another go, hopefully I can make it work, because it’s such a pretty shade.

Hmm… NTII shouldn’t be giving you any issues. Try using a different base coat – if that doesn’t work let me know – we’ll poke around until we figure it out.
