Meh: Dior Liquorice
A few months ago, Dior Liquorice was *the* ‘it’ color. I fell victim to its charms after seeing a few pictures of it on other girls. It wasn’t exactly disappointing but I think this color was, sadly, the catalyst of my antipurpleitis. So, despite the fact that the color is a great tyrian purple (reddish plummy mega shimmer) and it wore like iron (three whole days, not one visible sign of wear), I just wasn’t wowed by it. Maybe it’s because the color is way more impressive before it dries? After it dried, even with a healthy slathering of Seche, it seemed a little duller.
Liquorice was supposedly a Nordstrom’s exclusive. Seeing as how I didn’t get mine from Nordies and the serial numbers were filed off the bottle, gangland firearms style – I think it’s safe to assume that the people who sold it to me were of the unscrupulous sort. (Picture a man in a trench coat meeting me in some dark alley. He opens the left side of his jacket pointing to several tiny pockets, each containing a bottle of some high end limited edition exclusive nail polish. He says, “Psst girl, whatchu neeeeeed”?) Ultimately, I think Liquorice is a keeper but I probably won’t be running to it very often.

Well I like it. But I probably wouldn’t pay the high price for it, but I am cheap when it comes to nail polish, nothing over $10.00 for me.

I actually like this color, but I am sucker for burgundy purples. I’d gladly take it off of your hands, LOL

Oh lord. Most expensive (makeup prices in Australia are KILLER), most disappointing polish in my collection. It’s a decent enough vampy, but surprisingly dull – I shouldn’t have to sunbathe every single time I wear it just to see what it’s capable of. It should come with its own portable incandescent lighting, yes it should.

I love it – don’t own it and probably won’t buy it for the price, but I love plummy shades. I’m wearing Essie Bahama Mama but I love the glitter (not overly glittery) of this. doesn’t look dull in your pix.

Katee – Yea, pretty much.
Firepail – lol. I try (and usually fail). : P
Brooke – I used to feel that way too, then RBL happened to me. lol.
Diann_Co – I can’t believe I’m about to say this but I’m actually thinking of doing a purge soon and I might let go of some of these colors that I like but I don’t love. But you know how I feel about purging, so it might not actually happen. I’ll let you know if it does. : )
Shryh – Yea it’s very pretty in the sun light but still sort of meh.
Sharon – It’s probably not available anymore, I can’t think about anything exactly like it that isn’t also hard to find. I’ll keep my eye out though.
Deepo – That’s why I’m going to hold off on a final judgment for this color – it’s possible that when I get over my aversion to purple that I will really like this one.
