Fall Blitzkrieg: Rescue Beauty Lounge Fall Collection

I think I’m just going to stop raving about Rescue Beauty Lounge because I’m starting to sound like a broken record. These colors are just so disgustingly gorgeous – it’s almost overwhelming. I’m starting to suspect that the nail polish gods have bestowed Ji Baek with the logos. This collection is so perfect, I practically started speaking in tongues when the FedEx guy dropped it off. [1. Actually - funny story: FedEx emailed me saying they dropped my package off at 2:33pm so you can imagine the emotional roller coaster I was on when I arrived home at 3:30pm to find that my package missing in action. I flipped my shit, for real. Was it stolen!? Delivered to the wrong house!? I started pounding on neighbor's doors. I accused my boyfriend and roommates of hiding it to screw with me (which they've actually done before). Then yelled at them for not watching the door vigilantly enough for my package. I called FedEx and berated them for about 30 minutes. Accused the roomies and boyfriend again. I was really ready to just sit down and drown in tears because this collection was sold out. I wouldn't be able to get replacements until late September/October. Right as I'm about to end it all the FedEx guy waltzes up to my door with my package that apparently was never actually delivered at all. I spent the good portion of the afternoon apologizing for my psychotic episode but I did it while wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal so it was all worth it.] So now I’m spreading the gospel to you guys – *cue the trumpets* – behold:

Rescue Beauty Lounge Teal is tough to describe. Is it blue, is it green? It does look green in some lights, blue in others. It’s not really teal… is it? I’m not sure. I just know that it’s drop dead gorgeous. As always great application – almost complete coverage in one coat.

I’m wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge Bruise right now. Like Teal, it’s tough to pin down in one color category. It’s a purple-y muted maroon-ish brown. Those colors don’t even seem like they are part of the same spectrum but Bruise looks like all three at same time. On short nails and in non-conservative offices, I’d say this one is work appropriate. Also, great application.

Rescue Beauty Lounge No More War is the controversial color from this collection. People either absolutely LOVE it or absolutely HATE this olive green, there doesn’t seem to be an in between. I’m sure this won’t be shocking to anyone but I’m in the ‘f-r-e-a-k-i-n-g love it’ camp. Plus, the tiny little dirty tree hugging hippie inside me loves the name.

So does this collection have anyone else speaking Glossolalia, or is it just me?

wow! the first two are definitely gorgeous! i do agree with your thoughts about No More War– people will love it or hate it. i’m not sure how i feel about it, maybe because i don’t know how it would look on me :)

  2. pretear Says:

    It’s surprisingly flattering. : P

  3. Lynette Says:

Girl, you must work at a super conservative office. I work in insurance and no one would bat an eye at Bruise. Now I would garner some comments if I strolled in sporting No More War.

  4. m Says:

SOOOO CUTE!! i want teal really bad.

  5. robyn Says:

thank you for the pics!!! i want teal and bruised A LOT. these are gorgeous on you.

  6. pretear Says:

Lynette – Nah I don’t, but people who don’t work at conservative offices probably don’t need work appropriate nail polish advice. lol. : P

    m – dooooo eeeeet. It’s gorgeous.

    robyn – Thank you!

I’m sitting here at work laughing about the FedEx story because I am the EXACT same way. I stalk my packages. Yesterday the UPS guy here at work hid my package and claimed he didn’t have anything for me. He let me have a breakdown at the front desk before he gave me the package! LOL!

  8. pretear Says:

LOL – I consistently straight up harass my UPS, FedEx, and USPS guys. I think they all probably hate me. lol

  9. Tifflet Says:

No More War looks awesome on you! Mine is going on tomorrow. Hopefully I will do it justice.

Why oh why did I happen upon this site? I’m new to the polish addiction thing and I live in the UK so had to,just had to spend a ridiculous amount ordering from RBL. It hurt. Thanks for a lovely site. Please no more posts on RBL.

  11. MissB Says:

At least one customer service rep at FedEx reads your blog. If I’d gotten your call and you told me what was in your package, I’d have moved heaven and earth to find it!

  12. pretear Says:

Tifflet – So what’s the final verdict? Do you love it? : )

Mochachoc – lol. Ok no more RBLs…. for at least a week. : P

MissB: LOL!! I did tell the girl who I was talking too… “NO YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, I NEED THIS PACKAGE! I HAVE A WEBSITE!!! I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOUR MISSING PACKAGE RESOLUTION OR WHATEVER THE HELL! I NEED TO GET THESE POLISHES ON MY WEBSITE!!!” She must have thought I was absolutely off my rocker. But I definitely appreciate that you would have moved heaven and earth for my obsession. : )

  13. Glynis Says:

Actually, I want to ask you a question.. are you experiencing cuticle pull from RBL? I used Poshe basecoat and topcoat with it and I notice a significant amount of cuticle pull? How do I avoid it? Should I get their own basecoat and topcoat?

  14. pretear Says:

Ah, tip pull sucks. I haven’t had that problem specifically with RBL but it does happen to me sometimes. Poshe might be the culprit. The *best* way to guard against tip pull is to wrap the tip of your nail with your top coat (brushing horizontally over the tip) then painting the rest of the top coat on quickly. That trick has pretty much taken care of all my tip pull issues. If that doesn’t help then it might be time to either chuck the bottle of Poshe or thin it. Thick polish (which forces you to apply thick coats) causes tip pull. Too many coats can do it too. Let me know if you problem continues, if so we’ll brainstorm some more solutions.

Really late to this; I purchased Bruise and Teal in October and loved them, but wasn’t sure about No More War. I’m a pasty-white redhead, so I mulled this over for quite a while. Well, I bought it and LOVE IT! It is so unique, went on like a dream, and I can’t stop looking at my nails. I agree with Glynis that I get tip and cuticle pull when I use RBL, and when I put on No More War I did wrap the tips, which worked. Now I have to figure out how to do that with the cuticles!

You have lovely pics and they help so much in my nail polish purchases.

  16. pretear Says:

I’m really glad you loved these! :)

  17. Cal Says:

LOVELOVELOVE! *drools* I really had to laugh about your FedEx story :D Though, really, who wouldn’t go crazy for these colours?

  18. Helen Says:

I saw the No More War color in a magazine. it’s a very cool green. I also thought your nail polish freakout was hilarious. I get pretty overlyexcited about getting new colors as well. waiting for an RBL promotion so I can take the first plunge into RBL!
